The Chanukah holiday begins this year at sundown on Monday, December 19, corresponding to Kislev 25 in the year 5783.
The Barbados Jewish Community will host its annual Chanukah celebration on Wednesday evening December 21 at the historic Nidhe Israel synagogue in downtown Bridgetown.
Candle lighting will be at 6pm, to be followed by a brief Ma’ariv (evening) service and seasonal refreshments (including latkes!). Members, guests and children especially are encouraged to join in.
At this time of year we typically expect many out-of-town visitors, and because we’re providing holiday refreshments we need a count of those who plan to attend. Whether you are local or visiting we request that you advise of by email if you plan to attend. Please RSVP with your name and the number in your party to bjc@jewishbarbados.org.
