Shannah Tovah to All!

Notwithstanding the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, the BJC will continue its long-standing tradition of hosting High Holiday services here in Barbados.
Services will be conducted remotely via teleconference by Hal Blumenfeld, who has been leading our Rosh HaShannah and Yom Kippur prayers here for the past 23 years!

Please join us for these services in one of two ways:
(1) remotely, from your home, via the Zoom teleconference platform; or
(2) if you reserve a seat in advance, you can come in-person to the historic Nidhe Israel synagogue in downtown Bridgetown, where we plan to have Hal appear on a large screen.
If you have previously responded to our survey indicating your intention to attend in person, you will receive an email invitation with an RSVP request.  If you want to join with us in person but don’t receive an email invitation before September 15, please reach out to bjc@jewishbarbados.org.

Here is the schedule for Yom Kippur 5781

Kol Nidre, Erev Yom Kippur
Sunday September 27, 6pm-7:30pm
On-Line and On-Site (by advance reservation)

Yom Kippur Morning Service
Monday, September 28, 9:30am-11:30am
On-Line and On-Site (by advance reservation)

Yom Kippur Minha/Ne’ilah Service (Afternoon and Conclusion)
Monday, September 28, 5:00pm-6:30pm
On-Line and On-Site (by advance reservation)

Because we are trying accommodate both on-line and in-person guests, services will begin promptly at the designated time.  If you have indicated you plan to attend on-line, you will receive an email invitation that will include a link and meeting code.  Please do not come physically to the downtown synagogue without a confirmed reservation for that specific prayer service.

To request an on-line or in-person invitation, or if you have any questions, please contact us at bjc@jewishbarbados.org.
