This week we are holding our Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat services both in-person at the historic Nidhe Israel synagogue in downtown Bridgetown, as well as on-line only.
Because Covid protocols are in effect, if you wish to attend in-person please RSVP to bjc@jewishbarbados.org.
Services this week will conclude with not one, but TWO baby namings. Daniel and Gillian Melrose-Cowen, who have recently joined our community. will be naming their daughter Isabella in the presence of two grandparents. In addition, newcomers Roberto and Fernanda Fromer will be naming their son Noah, who was born here in Barbados on June 19. Roberto is a diplomat posted to the Embassy of Brazil in Bridgetown since August 2019, and they have two older children, Lucas (age 7) and Thomas (3).
There will be a tasty Oneg Shabbat served after services, co-hosted by both the Melrose-Cowens and the Fromers. Alas if your are joining us on-line, we have no way to share the meal with you.
Services begin at 6:30pm local time. If you would like to join us virtually, here is the meeting link: ZoomMeeting. If you need the pass code please email bjc@jewishbarbados.org.
The parsha this week is: Matot-Masay, from the book of Numbers (Bamidbar 30-36)
