Members and Guests:

On behalf of the entire Jewish community, the BJC Board would like to wish all of you and your families a Happy, Healthy and Sweet New Year!
Sundown on September 25 (1 Tishrei) marks the arrival of the new Jewish year 5783, and our community — like thousands of others worldwide — will be marking the occasion with both private and public celebrations.

G-d willing, our long-time High Holiday hazan Dr. Hal Blumenfeld will be returning to the island to lead services, which this year will be held in the air-conditioned Shaare Tzedek synagogue on Rockley New Road.  Those of us who know Hal and his wife Michelle from years past are thrilled at the prospect of seeing them again in person, and we wish them safe travels.  For our new members and guests who have not had the pleasure of attending services led by Hal, you are warmly invited to join us in this 20+ year tradition.

A basic COVID regimen will remain in effect for those planning to attend in person (we are hoping to stream the services via ZOOM also, Wi-Fi permitting):

  • Attendees must be at least double vaccinated (honor system)
  • Reserved seating only. You must contact us via email at bjc@jewishbarbados.org to reserve your space (please indicate specific dates/times you hope to join us)
  • Please sit only in your assigned seat
  • Everyone must always wear a mask while on premises
  • Everyone must sanitize before entering the building

Guests and visitors are always welcome and encouraged to join us, but reservations are required.  If you arrive without advance notice we will likely not be able to accommodate you.
