Notwithstanding the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, the BJC will continue its long-standing tradition of hosting High Holiday services here in Barbados.
Services will be conducted remotely, via Zoom teleconference, by Hal Blumenfeld, who has been leading our Rosh HaShannah and Yom Kippur prayers here for the past 23 years!
You can join us for these services (exact times to be announced) either remotely from your home, or you can come in-person to the historic Nidhe Israel synagogue in downtown Bridgetown, where we hope to have Hal appear on a large screen.
Our current plan is to conduct a complete Torah service each day, so that will require at least a full minyan (10 adults; our community counts both men and women) to be present at Nidhe Israel. If you are planning to attend in person please notify Neal Rechtman at bjc@jewishbarbados.org; due to Covid-19 restrictions we may need to place a limit on the number of people attending in person.
