President’s Message – April 30

Word for the week:

Dear all,

This past week we had a special speaker, Rosalie Simon, who told us her story of surviving the Holocaust. It was sad, overwhelming and touching in so many ways. I believe that each of us came out of the talk with our own lessons learned. For me, it was her undeniable will to live. She never gave up hope regardless of the horrors she witnessed and experienced. Also of significance was her families’ (sisters) support and love. I grew up down the street from Rosalie and yet never knew her story. I am so grateful to her for having the strength to share it with us and with so many others. We must never forget.

This program was so meaningful that the committee has decided to create a calendar of events in which we will invite speakers and even musicians to share with our community. If you have any topics of interest, please share them with us.
