Barbados Jewish Community

President’s Message – August 21, 2020

Shabbat Shalom!

My mother always told me to count my blessings. These are wise words especially during challenging times. We are blessed to be a community, that although is small in numbers, is huge in spirit. There are so many people giving of their time and energy to enhance the Jewish community and the community at large. We are blessed to have members who have donated their time and energy to renovating one of the oldest and most historic synagogues in the western Hemisphere. We are blessed with diversity and members who have chosen Judaism as their faith.  We are blessed to be able to share our services with members and family that are so far away. Let’s enter this sacred time before Rosh Hashanah with love and compassion by counting our blessings.
