Shabbat Shalom!
The word of the week:
In a time of challenges, there is nothing more heartwarming than the joy of a new light coming into the world. Scott and I are so pleased to announce the birth of our newest granddaughter Darla Rose Oran who was born on January 28th, 2021. As I mentioned previously, Scott and I are in the USA enjoying family time with Max, Amanda,Sadie and now Darla. How many hours can you spend watching such a miracle as a newborn baby? I think it is limitless, as is our gratitude to G-d for bringing her safely into the world.
It is the perfect time for reciting the shehechiyanu prayer.
My Jewish learning has a great article on saying the shehechiyanu prayer .https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/shehechiyanu-a-meditation-on-this-moment/
To all of you in Barbados now on lockdown, we send you our love and prayers. We pray that this time will renew the country and control any further spread of the virus.
We will be holding ZOOM services tomorrow evening, February 05, 2021 at 6:30pm. Please email bjc@jewishbarbados.org for the passcode.
