President’s Message – January 14

Word of the week:

Dear all,
The BJC committee is planning on continuing the Lecture Series for 2022.  If you have any special topics of interest or know of any speakers that would be interesting to the community, please let us know. In the meantime, I received an invitation today that I thought I would pass on to the women in our community.

You are warmly invited to ‘A Jewish Woman’s Journey to Success’ an online Jewish Women’s networking event with Dr Janét Aizenstros, Chairwoman and CEO of Ahava Group Global.

CJWN is a network of remarkable Jewish women who come together to share experiences, positively impact on the wider world, provide a platform and support structure and we are delighted to partner with the National Council of Jewish Women Canada to invite you to a rare opportunity to meet with Janét Aizenstros and network with Jewish women from across the Commonwealth.

Dr Janét Aizenstros is the Founder and CEO of Ahava Digital Group — a women-led digital consultancy working with Fortune companies to help them connect with women consumers using data and technology. She is an award-winning Canadian businesswoman with several leadership awards – making her the first Black-Jewish Canadian woman in history to scale a nine-figure organisation.

We hope you are able to join us on the 1st February 2022 (10:00 EST)(15:00 GMT)(16:00 CET) and come along and network with Jewish women from across the Commonwealth!

We aim to include women from every country in the Commonwealth where there are Jewish people so do feel free to invite other Jewish women. To accommodate this ambition, this event will be recorded so we are able to cover the range of time zones.

Friday night services continue in-person during the month of January (excluding January 21st )(and of course virtually as well).  For the last two weeks we’ve collected a minyan with ease, including over two dozen visitors who were delighted to have the experience of davening in our historic shul.

We encourage you to join us in person if at all possible: Nidhe Israel, with its open windows and double-vaulted ceiling, gives us a safe environment and the opportunity to resume welcoming winter visitors, which has been our privilege for some years now.  Services begin promptly at 6:30pm.  Please email if you plan to attend in person.

For those attending Friday night’s services on ZOOM at 6:30pm (5:30pm EDT), please use this link to join us.
If for any reason you need a pass code, please email bjc@jewishbarbados.og
