Dear all,
One of the biggest topics in the news, besides COVID, is the environment and the devastation climate change poses for future generations. The UN will be holding a summit in Glasgow this Sunday. “Countries are being asked to come forward with ambitious 2030 emissions reductions targets that align with reaching net zero by the middle of the century. Countries can achieve this by accelerating the phase-out of coal, curtailing deforestation, speeding up the switch to electric vehicles and encouraging investment in renewables.
Genesis 2:15 states: “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”
The Tanakh makes it clear that, as the whole Earth belongs to God, humans have to respect it and hand it back to God unspoiled. The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Psalm 24:1” https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/zfs3d2p/revision/3
