President’s Message – September 10

Dear Members and Friends,

Once again on behalf of the entire Jewish community, we would like to wish you and your families L’shana tova u’metukah!

Every new experience has its pros and cons. This Rosh Hashanah, I chose to stay home and Zoom the services so that I could be on call for anyone having trouble logging on or who needed a link. My house was empty, there was a very slight breeze and I felt focused and peaceful. There was something very special and meditative about the experience. On the other hand, I really wanted to meet our visitors and feel the brevity of Nidhe Israel synagogue as there is strength in group prayer and Nidhe Israel holds a special place in my heart. But in either case, the leadership of Hal Blumenfeld united us all in prayer for the 24th year. We are so grateful to Hal for making an exception to ZOOM services for us on the holiest of days.
