Many thanks to everyone who participated in our High Holiday services this past week. Thank you to all the committee members and my husband who pulled out all the stops to get our technology up and running. A special thank you to Hal Blumenfeld who once again led a series of beautiful services for us. It was an incredible experience to be connected with friends and family from around the globe. Many wonderful new ideas are hatched from challenges. We hope our ZOOM services will grow, expand and unite us in ways we never expected.
Tonight begins the first day of Sukkot meaning literally a “hut” or “booth,” a temporary structure that is built to be dwelt in during the holiday of Sukkot. Its purpose is to commemorate the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt and to make a symbolic gesture that acknowledges humankind’s reliance upon God.
